Do you hear the mountain roar? In Hafjell there is a lot of different activites for everyone, either you prefer to walk, fish or experience the nature from the bike seat. Whatever kind of nature experience you are looking for, Hafjell is the place for you.

With the Gondola, many opportunities opens up for hiking in Øyerfjellet. Short walks on foot in the area around Mosetertoppen, walks further into the mountain area, or a uphill hike to topp of Hafjell. Some choose to take the Gondola up just to walk through the many cabin fields in Hafjell. After the hike, you can enjoy luch with a view at Mosetertoppen.

Hafjell offers fantastic opportunities for all types of cycling; try Hafjell Bike Park on a downhill bike or enjoy endless gravel roads and trails in Øyerfjellet.
Both young and old can use a bike, professionals, beginners, action-lovers and even those who like a slower pace. In Hafjell Bike Shop you can rent what suits your needs, whether it is a downhill bike, trail bike or electric bike.

Fisker i Øyerfjellet


In Øyerfjellet there are over 50 fishing lakes and several kilometers of rivers and streams with good opportunities for fishing of various species. Several of the places can be reached by car or you can hike to the best fishing spots, it is also possible to rent a boat. In addition, Hafjell is right by the river Gudbrandsdalslågen and Lake Mjøsa is only a short drive away. Read more about fishing in Hafjell here

Norwegian farming

Experience local farming in Øyerfjellet! At Hornsjøen you will find Hornsjø setra. Here there is farming from mid-June to mid-September. If you come when the café is open, you can be served coffee, apple juice (from Braastad apples on Nes), ice cream (homemade from Braastad on Nes), homemade yoghurt from the farm, and “svele” which is a Norwigeian type of pancake.

A room is also availble for rent at the cabin on the farm. It has sleeping space for up to 4 people. Go here to book accommodation.



Sjøsetra seterdrift

Vil du se hvordan tradisjonell seterdrift går for seg kan du besøke Sjøsetra. De holder åpnet torsdag, fredag og lørdag i juli for gjester og tar 100,- i inngangspenger som inkluderer vaffel og saft/kaffe. Kommer du på ettermiddagen kan du være med på kveldsstellet og få prøve å melke ei ku.

I tillegg til melkekyr har de flere smådyr på setra, blant annet, kaniner, høner, geiter og kyllinger.

Dette er en fin tur å ta hvis man sykler fra Mosetertoppen til Sjøsetra eller så kan man kjøre bil frem til setra.

Moose safari

Øyerfjellet is known for its solid population of moose. Towards midnight you can study and photograph it in its natural habitat. The king of the forest, suddenly you see a big bull in front of you, or maybe a moose cow with twin calves. A great sight with an exciting story. You get to know the animal at a good distance. They must not be disturbed. The long summer evening is enjoyed with the animals.

Hunder som trekker vogn


Throughout the summer and autumn, you can try dog sledding with tough trolleys! Try dog sledding with eager Alaska Huskies, an absolutely fantastic way to experience nature in interaction with animals. You get your own team and drive yourself with guides in front and after instruction - unless you have to or would rather be a passenger, it is also possible. The tours are on request and it is important that it is cold enough. It is often driven in the evening and on an old farm road, or on idyllic forest roads
