Experiences in snow
Few people know about all the possibilities that exist in Hafjell and Lillehammer in the winter. When you have left the skies at the cabin and the children still want to experience real snow, we have some tips for you.
In December, before Christmas, there is nothing better than an afternoon in the cozy Christmas street in Lillehammer. Maybe you also choose to stop by Maihaugen and the open-air museum. Here you can experience exciting exhibitions indoors, but for a winter experience we highly recommend the fantastic surroundings for a walk in the cultural landscape.
Tobogganing in the Olympic Park is a great activity in the evening. And if you want to feel even more adrenaline and g-forces, we recommend testing bobrafting in Norway's only bobsleightrack. Dog sledding, snowshoeing, moonlight hiking in the mountains on cross-country skis, building a snowman, making snow angels, skating on the Vingnesvika icetrack or try out ice fishing on a mountain lake or on Gudbrandsdalslågen.
And last, but not least, the WinterPark. 3 weeks every winter the WinterPark opens a fairytale experience with ice sculptures, snow hotel, snow cathedral, trolls, the joy of snow for the children and a fantastic closing fireworks displayed with the lights from Hafjell in the background.
