Nermo Hotell

The Nermo family has been hosting guests in Hafjell since 1866 when hunters and fishermen stayed in the simple guest rooms of the family farm. The rustic setting may have changed, but the warm welcome certainly hasn’t.

Nowadays, the Hotel Nermo is a modern mountain retreat. And has been voted Norway’s best ski boutique hotel three times since 2016, thanks to its excellent customer service and attention to detail.
It’s tucked in a quiet spot outside Hafjell, and while it’s a 30 minutes’ walk to the centre of the resort and the nearest lift, you can hop on the regular shuttle service and be there in no time.
Inside, the décor has a Scandinavian feel with painted pine panelling and a neutral colour scheme. Grab a drink from the bar then head to the lounge, where an open wood fire and plush sofas add a touch of mountain cosiness. And as you’d expect in Norway, the hotel also has a sauna so you can warm up after a day on the slopes.
In the restaurant it’s all about regional dishes with locally sourced ingredients – try the moose sandwich and freshly-made apple cake, all washed down with some beer from the nearby brewery. You’ll get vouchers for lunch which you can use at mountain restaurants, so there’s no need to trek back to the hotel when hunger strikes.
