Hafjell Ski Bus

HAFJELL, In order to meet expectations in an ever-growing market, a ski and shuttle bus will run in Hafjell throughout the winter for the first time in several years.

Through the mobility project Entré Øyer , several players in Hafjell have joined forces to finance the "Hafjell Bus". The purpose is to get more people to travel by public transport to and in Hafjell. Project manager Jens August Dalsegg believes it will give a boost to the entire destination.

"The Hafjell bus will make it even easier for both cabin owners, residents and tourists to experience Hafjell and the Lillehammer region, and not necessarily just to get out skiing. You can leave the car once you get here.

All payment and travel planning will be able to be done throughout Norway's travel portal, Entur.

"We have planned for the Hafjell bus to correspond as much as possible with Innlandstrafikk's buses to/from Lillehammer – Hafjell, which in turn correspond to the train times Oslo – Lillehammer. In addition, the Hafjell bus will also correspond with certain arrival times at Hunderfossen station. All travelers can easily plan and pay for their trip in the Entur app," Dalsegg explains.

The Hafjell bus will run every day from 28 December to 21 April. The timetable is now undergoing a final quality check, but currently has the following starting point (not all stops are included):

  • Hunderfossen
  • Center
  • The bottom station
  • Nermo
  • Pellestova
  • Gaiastova
  • Fathom
  • Mosetertoppen Ski Stadium

It is Elverum Turbuss that has been commissioned to operate the route in Hafjell.

"Winter is normally a low season for the bus industry, so we jumped around when we heard about this assignment. There are great surroundings in Hafjell, so this is something both we and our drivers are looking forward to, says general manager Tom Arne Kristiansen.
