Family areas in Hafjell

Let the children play in three of Hafjell's family areas - perfect for your ski holiday!

Children are important to us in Hafjell and we welcome everyone who wants to learn to ski! Meet our mascot, Isa, and join her skiing or give her a hug. Learn to master skiing through fun and play. In Hafjell you will always find a challenge to improve your skiing. Read more about our different family areas.

Activity program & arrangements

For us, it is important that children enjoy skiing.

Every day, every week, throughout the winter season, there are activities with Hafjell Ski School, our mascot Isa and many skiing-loving children. The activities take place at Gondoltoppen/Favn and are varied from day to day. In addition to that, there are lots of other fun events and competitions you can take part in throughout the season.

KIDS Knerten

Knerten

Knerten is a family area that consists of Familiebakken and Knerten and is centrally located in Hafjell's valley area.

In Knerten there is a slalom theme where the children can test drive slalom gates and practice turns. The family area is also the meeting place for the ski school and a nice place to try skiing or have fun with the children. PS: there is only a platter lift (the carpet lifts are at Gondoltoppen).

At Knerten, you will also find a BBQ hut with benches which can be used for free.

KIDS Mosetertoppen

Gondoltoppen

Gondoltoppen is a collective term for everything that the Gondoltoppen has to offer. These family areas are free for everyone - all season long!*

• Isa's Favn: the area at Favn has a children's trail with low-threshold park elements, a figure trail and rope lift*
• Isa's Mini cross: On the other side of Isas Favn is another children's area with platter lift* and carpet lift*. This is a hill with a slightly steeper slope than Isas Favn and a perfect area for advancing your skiing.
• Isa's forest trails og Isa's cabin: Ski on specially made forest trails for children! Can you find Isa's cabin?
• Backyard: Blue park suitable for beginners as well as advanced park riders. The park is floodlit and falls under the evening driving offer.
• Audi Ski Run: Are you faster than your mom? Try out the slalom slope and check your results.
• Food & drinks: There are barbecue areas, warm lounge, Skavlen restaurant, Restaurant Favn, outdoor seating and benches.

KIDS Gaia

Gaia

Gaia is a family area on Hafjelltoppen right by Gaiastova. This family area is free for everyone - all season long!

There is a slalom run with figure gates, a separate ski cross run for children and a new toboggan run for those without skis. There are also two barbecue huts with hot, electric grills that everyone can use completely free of charge. If you need to warm up with a hot cocoa, Gaiastova is in the immediate vicinity and is open when Hafjell is open. Toilets and other facilities can be found inside Gaiastova.

The entire family area at Gaia is free for everyone to use - all season long! You do not need an Axess card to use the lift, just go through the lift gate. Gaia is thus the perfect place to try skiing for the first time, for both young and old.
